Chalk About It 2015 - Dayton, Ohio

Also got to meet David Zinn from Ann Arbor for the first time. He did 10 small pieces around the outdoor shopping center, and they had a scavenger-type hunt for the pieces.
Gesso Italiano 2013

San Diego, California, October 12 & 13. It was a bunch of firsts this weekend. The traditional artwork is a work by Angelo Bronzino.
Hooked on Art Festival
Fund raising event for Frontline Foundations in Chesterton, Indiana in 2013. This is a one day event with artists creating art in many forms on the street during the event. My piece was about 12' x 18' and was completed in about 8 hours with the help of local high school art students, Monica and Teresa. The picture is from the iconic poster for the South Shore rail line, that runs from Chicago along the south shore of Lake Michigan to the popular Indiana Dunes area. More photos on my facebook page.
Ava Arts Center in Gillette, Wyoming
The arts center requested an image to use for their fund raiser in January with a Greek/Roman Acropolis theme, so we decided to do this great picture of a 3D Pegasus. I had three great assistants - Steve Heil from Buffalo, and Blanche Guernsey and Linda Stewart from Gillette. Finished in about 7 hours, the work is 10' x 18'. Click here to see article in The Gillette News Record. I also led a 2 hour workshop for local adults and kids who wanted to learn more about street painting.

_The 10th Annual Jupiter Jubilee was held on February 4th in Jupiter, Florida. This chalk art was about 14' x 17' and was made specifically so that everyone could sit in the picture! You might even call it "faux" kayaking! The wind on Friday as I was setting up was difficult to deal with, but we were lucky to not get rained out. It took about a day and a half to complete. I did this large 12' x 20' sailfish for the Artsfest in Stuart, Florida for the Arts Council of Martin County. Stuart is the Sailfish Capital of the World, so I felt this would be the best subject matter to create. It took about 12 hours on the ground to chalk. Thank you to my sponsor, the Courthouse Annex.

Hampton Inns Conference 2011
This 3D postcard was created especially for the Hampton Inns conference in Orlando.
Attendees were encouraged to have their picture taken as they arrived at the annual event for managers of the hotel chain. The lighthouse was part of their overall theme, which also incorporated the "I standout" graphics developed for the event.
3D Postcard a hit a Jupiter Jubilee!
This interactive work at the Jupiter Jubilee in February 2011, was created so anyone could sit on the beach blanket, and have their picture taken "in" the postcard. The camera had to be at just the right position for it to work correctly, so we had to help most people to set up the shot. Everyone thought it was a great idea and since most everybody carries a phone with a camera, they could take a picture to take with them.

Bloom N Garden N Chalk Fest
Three Headed 3D Dragon
February 25 & 26, 2012 was the date of the 18th Annual Lake Worth event in Florida. Rain was a constant threat, but after an hour of delay early on Saturday morning, we all were able to get started around 10am, and it held off for the rest of the weekend. The cloudy skies made for a smaller crowd than usual, but the temperature was better for all. Art was about 10' x 20' and was chalked completely by just me in about 16 hours.
Americana Art in 3D
These pictures were done at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. I was limited to 10' x 20' tent, so I had to create art that would appear correct in the camera, but elongated on the pavement to create the 3D affect.

Sarasota Chalk Festival - October 2010
Here's my work from the First International Chalk Festival in Sarasota on Halloween weekend. I worked about 17 hours on this 8' x 10' piece on Pineapple Street. Original painting was by Alex Ross and once I saw it, I knew it was perfect for this event. It's not a traditional 3D piece, but it felt like it was coming out of the pavement and had a strong impact on the viewer. Carmen did her own beautiful piece, that was over on Oak Street.
