I did this large 12' x 20' sailfish for the Artsfest in Stuart, Florida for the Arts Council of Martin County. Stuart is the Sailfish Capital of the World, so I felt this would be the best subject matter to create. It took about 12 hours on the ground to chalk. Thank you to my sponsor, the Courthouse Annex.

Gesso Italiano 2013
WINNER - People's Choice Award! San Diego, California, October 12 & 13. It was a bunch of firsts this weekend. First time I did a combination traditional and 3D piece (yes, that is me in chalk), first time chalking in my hometown, and first time doing a self portrait. More pictures to come. The traditional artwork is a work by Angelo Bronzino.
Chalk About It - Dayton, Ohio
2015 was the first year for this new event in Dayton, Ohio for Life Essentials. Rain put a serious crimp on the event, but I managed to get the art done (10' x 18') in about 10 hours and covering up 4 times. Also got to meet David Zinn from Ann Arbor for the first time. He did 10 small pieces around the outdoor shopping center, and they had a scavenger-type hunt for the pieces.
The second year, 2016, had some rain, but not quite as bad.
Fourth of July
Huge one day event - first time for featured artist completing a 3D street painting at this event. Art is 7' wide x 18' long and took 8 hours and two artists (Jennifer Chaparro and Shane Mesmer) to complete so crowd could take pictures and be in the art. Click here to see the video!
Ava Arts Center in Gillette, Wyoming
The arts center requested an image to use for their fund raiser in January with a Greek/Roman Acropolis theme, so we decided to do this great picture of a 3D Pegasus. I had three great assistants - Steve Heil from Buffalo, and Blanche Guernsey and Linda Stewart from Gillette. Finished in about 7 hours, the work is 10' x 18'. Click here to see article in The Gillette News Record. I also led a 2 hour workshop for local adults and kids who wanted to learn more about street painting.
_Jupiter Jubilee 2012
The 10th Annual Jupiter Jubilee was held on February 4th in Jupiter, Florida. This chalk art was about 14' x 17' and was made specifically so that everyone could sit in the picture! You might even call it "faux" kayaking! The wind on Friday as I was setting up was difficult to deal with, but we were lucky to not get rained out. It took about a day and a half to complete. (click on pictures to enlarge).
3D Alligator at the Jupiter Jubilee 2013

Colors of Willemstad 2012
This was my second year at this festival on the island of Curacao in the Dutch Antilles in the Caribbean. I was one of 4 featured artists invited to participate and give workshops to the local kids and artists. Click here to see the video. More student pictures are posted on my blog.
3D Postcard a hit a Jupiter Jubilee!
This interactive work at the Jupiter Jubilee in February 2011, was created so anyone could sit on the beach blanket, and have their picture taken "in" the postcard. The camera had to be at just the right position for it to work correctly, so we had to help most people to set up the shot. Everyone thought it was a great idea and since most everybody carries a phone with a camera, they could take a picture to take with them.
Three Headed 3D Dragon
February 25 & 26, 2012 was the date of the 18th Annual Lake Worth event in Florida. Rain was a constant threat, but after an hour of delay early on Saturday morning, we all were able to get started around 10am, and it held off for the rest of the weekend. The cloudy skies made for a smaller crowd than usual, but the temperature was better for all. Art was about 10' x 20' and was chalked completely by just me in about 16 hours.
Americana Art in 3D
These pictures were done at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. I was limited to 10' x 20' tent, so I had to create art that would appear correct in the camera, but elongated on the pavement to create the 3D affect.
My first sea turtle! This was done for Loggerhead Fitness at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach, Florida event - TurtleFest 2010, on Saturday, April 10, 2010. I took the picture myself of one of the rescued turtles at the center. The piece is about 6' x 4' on asphalt and took about 7 hours to complete.
Hard Rock Casino & Hotel
This art was done for the Seminole Hard Rock Casino & Hotel in Hollywood, FL to promote their new parking garage coming in December. The work is about 8' x 10' (almost real size), and the pavers were a bit of a challenge. It was quite eye-catching!
Bloom N Chalk Fest 2009
3D Alice Falling Down the Rabbit Hole in Ireland
Original art took me and one assistant, Mercedes Chaparro, 2 1/2 days to complete. Work was about 10' wide x 25' long.
Sarasota Chalk Fest - October 2010
Here's my work from the First International Chalk Festival in Sarasota on Halloween weekend. I worked about 17 hours on this 8' x 10' piece on Pineapple Street. Original painting was by Alex Ross and once I saw it, I knew it was perfect for this event. It's not a traditional 3D piece, but it felt like it was coming out of the pavement and had a strong impact on the viewer. Carmen did her own beautiful piece, that was over on Oak Street.
