Second annual event was held in quaint downtown Haines City, Florida (near Lakeland and Orlando). Weather was good, although the rain delayed a few people, who had to dry off their areas. Everyone finished in time for judging around 6pm. I started my piece (4' x 6') around 9:30 am and finished around 4pm.

Lake Worth Festival 2011
I completed a large 10' x 10' reproduction of a painting called "Breton Brother & Sister" by William Bouguereau, which took about 15 hours to complete the piece on my own, but the size was impressive. (click on images below to see a larger view). Click here to see the video.

3D Postcard a hit a Jupiter Jubilee!
This interactive work at the Jupiter Jubilee in February 2011, was created so anyone could sit on the beach blanket, and have their picture taken "in" the postcard. The camera had to be at just the right position for it to work correctly, so we had to help most people to set up the shot. Everyone thought it was a great idea and since most everybody carries a phone with a camera, they could take a picture to take with them. Click here to see the video! Winner at PuppetFest in Boca Raton!
For Puppetfest, I found this great image on a Google search. It's by Ursula Vernon, an illustrator. I had to find something to fit the Puppet theme, but also that could be finished in 7 hours. This piece is 7' x 5' and was finished in a record 5 hours! The kids loved it!

Winner at DisneyFestival of the Masters!
My reproduction of an original photo by LithiumPicnic, won the "Best Figurative" Award. I found the image on www.DeviantArt.com and it was a big hit at the Festival of the Masters on November 12-14, 2010, held at Downtown Disney. The area is 7' x 7' and was completed in about 17 hours.

Sarasota Chalk Festival - October 2010
Here's my work from the First International Chalk Festival in Sarasota on Halloween weekend. I worked about 17 hours on this 8' x 10' piece on Pineapple Street. Original painting was by Alex Ross and once I saw it, I knew it was perfect for this event. Carmen did her own beautiful piece, that was over on Oak Street. It was fun to see all the great work, as there were many very talented artists at this event - both traditional and large 3D types of work. (Click on pictures below to enlarge).
Seminole Hard Rock Casino
This art was done recently for the Seminole Hard Rock Casino & Hotel in Hollywood, FL to promote their new parking garage coming in December. The work is about 8' x 10' (almost real size), and the pavers were a bit of a challenge. It was quite eye-catching!
TurtleFest in Juno Beach
My first sea turtle! This was done for Loggerhead Fitness at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center event - TurtleFest 2010, held behind the center in Juno Beach, Florida on Saturday, April 10th. I took the picture myself of one of the rescued turtles at the center. The piece is about 6' x 4' on asphalt and took about 7 hours to complete.
Best in Show at Haines City Festival
I was excited to win the Best in Show award at the first Haines City Street Painting Festival in Haines City, FL. This was a one day event, and I chalked from 9am until about 5pm. It was pretty cool in the morning, but once the sun came out, it was much nicer. Since the judging was at 6pm, I worked straight through to finish my 5' x 7' piece in time. There were about 30-40 artists participating.

ArtHaus Street Painting Festival 2010
The 11th Annual Arthaus Street Painting Festival (part of the Port Orange Family Days) was a success, despite two downpours on Saturday. The first was around noon, and wasn't too bad. But the second one came at 5 pm after a full day of chalking and literally washed away most of our work. Sunday at 7:30 am we uncovered it so I could get to work as soon as possible. I just barely finished in time for the judging at 1 pm.
This "Artist's Choice" winner was a photo I liked, titled "First Kiss", but I changed the background to make it more colorful. It was the perfect proportion for the odd 5' x 10' sized area and was a real crowd pleaser, especially with the kids. Thank you to my space sponsor: Doran, Sims, Wolfe, Ansay & Kundid and Laurie and Catie at Arthaus! Stuart ArtsFest 2010
Stuart held it's annual ArtsFest to benefit all the great arts programs in Martin County. The Tom Sawyer themed art was chosen to complement the reading program currently in the local schools.
