It's Official!

The International Street Painting Society has officially filed papers for non-profit status in Florida, as of June 12, 2012.

The mission of this organization is:

To promote and educate about the art of street painting internationally as a legitimate art form.
To provide opportunities worldwide for street painters/chalk artists to connect and network, share information and prosper as artists.
To connect persons with an interest and passion for street art.

Art is a Universal Language

Through my work at the Dayton Visual Arts Center, I have seen firsthand how valuable an organization like this can be in helping artists get the recognition and help they need to succeed. During my travels as an award winning street painter, I have met many other great artists, but saw a need to help them connect. We are a small but growing community, and deserve to be recognized for our contributions to the arts.

We often give of our time and talents freely, but I hope to help more artists get the pay and recognition often afforded traditional painters, sculptors and performers. Although this artform has roots in the streets, and many performers were considered beggars, it has transformed into an artform that requires skill, dedication and passion.
